CHAPTER 40
“Mr Diaz you’re the one to explain, why does your daughter looks like me” Ji-min frowned
“there’s only one good answer, you’re mom”
“look I don’t even know you and you accuse me of being your mother” Ji-min shot back.
Cameron gasped as he caught a glimpse of who she really was.
“May… it’s been 16 years” he said slowly and Ji-min staggered to the back but Cameron was quicker to hold her before she fell.
“ohh” she felt pain in her head for no reason and her eyes were getting dim.
“what’s wrong” his gaze became soft as he watch her grab her aching head.
“I- I gave… birth?” it sounded like a rhetorical whisper. Why was she unsure? Giving birth is an event no woman should ever forget.
“I can’t remember giving birth, especially to an adult like her, I’m just 28” she finally regained her balance.
“Mayweather?”
“my name is ji-min” but when he called her May earlier, she felt a strong wave of childhood memories but could even picture any of it.
“There must be a mix up somewhere” She said again.
“Maybe it’s just a phantom.. people do say ‘God’ create human in twos, more like she’s a doppelganger” Arizona rolled her eyes and went upstairs.
“I think I’ll have to cancel, you should find another date” ji-min said.
“I also don’t feel like going anymore so.. where did you attend middle school” Cameron dipped his right hand in his pockets and dig his left hand into his hair, running it backwards.
“I don’t know why I feel I didn’t pass through childhood but my parents said I attend WOORI schools” she said.
“you don’t feel like yunno… lost your memories?”
“I just woke up in a plane one day and couldn’t remember anything, even my name” she sighed
“you should have some rest, don’t think too much about it” he said.
“goodnight Mr Diaz” She pursed her lips into a thin line and walked out the door.
Everything suddenly feels like a dream, what happened the night before she woke up in the plane. Why did she feel pain everywhere especially down there.
She didn’t even think much about why her vuI.va expanded but now, it all makes sense.
All she just need is to recollect. Her phone vibrated in her bag.
“APPA” displayed on the ID info, just the person she needed to speak to right now.
“(dad did I ever lost my memories)”
