That she should move on with her life. She wasn’t shocked by the reply, she had called his number after his uncle had informed her of what he met at Ohimini .
Dooshima was not shocked, she expected it, his sudden change of behavior. She just wanted closure, she called to know why he had done that to her. She wanted to know where she had wronged him.
Dooshima had not been comfortable since the day Hanan,
had threatened her. She always saw him whenever she turned around. He was always lurking around her flat, she wanted to run away.
But she didn’t know anywhere to run to, she had no one. she had gone to her parents house, she met a new set of police men, who didn’t know her, they couldn’t let her in, even though the gate man knew her.
They said her immediate younger brother Cieryol had left instruction that she wasn’t to step into the house.

On this hot afternoon she didn’t think she could stay in her house alone, that night, she decided to call Mimidoo and tell her, the fears she harbored in her heart. She opened her window curtain to check if the stalker was around and there he was
“Hey Dooshima why are you sounding so sad? ” Mimidood asked immediately she heard Dooshima’s voice , she could tell Dooshima was feeling distressed from the sound of her voice.
“I am fine Mimidoo, please can you come to my house now please? ” Dooshima said, she was terrified ,Hanan stood outside her house across the road, he was smoking marijuana and puffing it in to the air.
“What’s it Dooshima?” Minidoo asked .
“Just come I’ll tell you it’s urgent.” She Dooshima begged.
“I’ll be on my way as soon as I leave work.” Minidoo promised, Dooshima would go to the window to check, and they he stood like a a bad dream, she wanted to run out of the house, but then he could hold her down again. She sat inside the house.

Thirty minutes later an Okada stopped at the front of Dooshima’s flat, she opened the curtain to check, she saw it was Minidoo. She horried to the door and threw it open.
She embraced Mimidoo so hard. “Thank you Mimi for coming.” Dooshima said, fidgeting and pacing about.
“What’s the problem you look like a ghost.” Truly Dooshima was looking pale. “What’s wrong with you? ”
“D-did you see a tall black boy with dreadlocks outside wearing a three quarter jeans and a blue basketball shirt? ” Dooshima asked and Mimidoo nodded.
“I saw him going towards the junction, near the drinking joint.” cold sweat left Dooshima’s body. She couldn’t stay still she kept pacing about with her baby bump.

“That guy is stalking me. He’s stalking me Mimidoo am not save here, he’s always here from morning till evening going up and down.” She said.
“Come and sit down Dooshima, you’re making a serious allegation. ” Dooshima shook her head she didn’t want to sit.
“No I can’t sit. He’s going to hurt me.” She said emphatically.
“Why would he? what did you do to him? ” she asked.
“So while I was seeing you off three days ago , I saw him from the corner of my eyes, he was talking and pointing at me. So while I was coming back from the road, he blocked me and began to touch me rudely calling me a prostitute.” She said.
“Really? why are you just telling me now? ” Mimidoo said with a wide shock on her face.
“I don’t know I thought he would stop, but he threatened to have me even if I wanted him or not. ” Dooshima said. “Since is always in this place.” Dooshima cried.

“When I go to get food. I would see him behind me. Following me, what can I do? ” she asked.
“Dooshima we should take this matter to the police station.” Mimidoo suggested.
“No oh Mimi that guy has a gun, he can shoot me. ” she said.
“So you’ll just let him keep harassing you? ”
“Yes he has a gun, who am I to run to? The police would ask for prove, but what do I have? ” Dooshima asked.
“We should still go and report. Because this might turn to something else.” Mimidoo insisted, so the two ladies got on a motorcycle and went to the Gboko police division.
“When una done Waka Waka una boyfriend done the chase una na that time una the know say una go come here come the crocodile.” A female police sergeant grumbled.

“Jessica abeg shut up your mouth if you don’t have anything to say. ” Her colleague warned her. “Is it every pregnant girl that’s wayward?” He cautioned her.
“Abeg Akase just shut up.” Mimidoo and Dooshima were disappointed by the attitude of the police officers.
“My dear there’s nothing the police can do for you now, just try to avoid the boy. You don’t know where he stays, and no evidence, so we cannot arrest him.” The male officer said to Dooshima . The two ladies returned home crestfallen and heart broken.
“I’ll come and be staying with you Dooshima you shouldn’t stay alone.” Mimidoo suggested and Dooshima nodded.
“Thank you Mimi. ” She said as she embraced her.
“Okay that’s cool . what are we friends for let’s go and get something to eat. I know Shania is hungry and grumbling. ” Dooshima giggled for the first time in a while.

Seemed Hanan had given up his quest, for two days they watched but he stopped common around . The compound was empty , the occupants of the neighbouring flats had gone out, it was Friday , they had gone for a vigil.
Mimidoo and Dooshima where seeing a movie, the bulbs outside the house were smashed up, the compound was thrown into darkness .
“What’s that? ” Dooshima asked terrified, they was a loud bang on the door, followed by another , the iron door was being broken into, the ladies ran into Dooshima’s bedroom and locked the door. Soon the men broke into the house.
“She has locked herself in the bedroom, she was watching a movie here. ” A voice said.
“Joseph come and break this door down. She will hear pepper today, she was forming big woman abi? she’ll hear it. ” She recognized Hanan accented voice. she began to tremble, sweat covered her head to toe.
