At about six P.M that evening , Mrs Bemshima and Terfa drove into the family house of professor Gamadi,she met her friend looking so angry .
“Am sorry Seember , I don’t know what is wrong with is wrong with this boy . please I can kneel down and beg you right here Seember .”Mrs Bemshima said ,dropping to her knees .
“We love Dooshima , the police has traced the lady to her family house in Makurdi,she’s been arrested and the case is being investigated.” Mrs Bemshima rambled .
“All those things you’re saying Bemshima is none of my business ,how dare you lay your filthy hands on my daughter ?” Seember snapped , almost hitting Terfa , who didn’t try to dodge , his mother held her friend.
“Please Seember we are here to make peace , and not to cause more trouble , please I beg you it’s too late to call off the marriage now .” She begged .

“What did you say Bemshima? too late ? it’s better my daughter leaves this violent son of yours, then go into a marriage of pain and regrets.”Seember said , Bemshima held her hand .
“Please don’t say that Seember , the embarrassment would be loud , please just think about it , my son is very sorry . He’s not usually like that , it was just the pressure the lady was putting on him .” Bemshima begged .
“So is Terfa dumb that you’re speaking for him ? What kind of beast are you Terfa ? No one has ever laid a hand on Dooshima since she was given birth to. How dare you touch my daughter?” Seember yelled, Annabel and Mimidoo ran downstairs to see what was happening , Shiana came down with her aunt , she glared at Terfa with hateful disdain , he couldn’t stand the hateful stare from the little girl
“Am sorry ma … it was just the devil … fuc… I didn’t mean to hit Dooshima, it’s just that they was so much on my head .” Terfa said with an apologetic voice .
“Please ma I’ll never repeat it again .” He said , Seember angrily plopped down on a couch and tucked her hand under her chin , Bemshima sat down beside her and put her arm around her shoulder.

“Seember please let us not allow this stupid behaviour of Terfa ruin things for us , Dooshima will help change him , he loves her dearly .
He has not been himself , please let me talk to Dooshima . I’ve spoken with my son , I promise he will never try it again .” Bemshima
promised .
“Bemshima Dooshima has been having a double mind since that Idoma boy who got her pregnant showed up , I have been trying to talk her into marrying Terfa , and now I am hearing of a scandal ? that your son slept with a married woman?” Seember quarreled .
“Please Seember it didn’t actually happened the way you see it , the girl in question was dating Terfa before she left him and got married to another man.
I cannot tell you all that happened, but Terfa is claiming the boy isn’t his own , we have ordered for a DNA test in Makurdi , if Terfa isn’t the father of the boy ,the lady will be going to prison for blackmail.

Mrs Bemshima begged . “Really I am so disappointed at Terfa , if it’s not the dying minute I would have asked my daughter to end this …”Seember couldn’t complete the statement.
“Please Seember think about the embarrassment this would bring open us ?”Bemshima said staring into Seember’s face . “This is a celebrity marriage , because of your husband’s popularity the traditional marriage went viral over the net.
If we cancel the marriage today the tongue lashing would be too much .” Mrs Bemshima begged , Seember’s anger gradually ebbed down ,she led her upstairs to Dooshima’s room .
“I’ve been knocking for hours here , Dooshima refused to open the door , you could try if she accepts it’s simply her choice, because am tired of pushing her around.

I thought marrying Terfa from a responsible family would help my sister , but your son is wilder than a rabid animal .”Seember said outside Dooshima’s door , her Comment hit Bemshima had , but she couldn’t a word in defence of her son.
“Please Dooshima can you open the door this is big mummy speaking .” Mrs Bemshima begged , Dooshima remained in bed . “Please Dooshima you know it’s not right to be disobedient to older people.
” She said , Dooshima remained in bed not moving a muscle . “Dooshima please just come to the door let’s talk this over , I promise you it will never happen again ,Terfa is here with a basket full of apology, please…”
The door creaked open , Dooshima held her right elbow with her left arm .Mrs Bemshima and Seember entered her room.
“Dooshima I am sorry,Terfa didn’t tell us about the situation with Iyua , we were not aware , and he’s sworn that the kid in question isn’t his , he had not been in communication with her for close to two years .” She said sitting next to Dooshima on the bed .

“You’re not only marrying Terfa , you’re marrying the whole of our family , we love you Dooshima please forgive Terfa , he will never repeat that madness again .” Mrs Bemshima said , Terfa walked into the room and knelt before Dooshima.
“Dooshima am sorry for what I did , it wasn’t my intention to hit you, I had been under intense pressure from Iyua to cancel our wedding.
she promised to go public with information she had , when I refused to yelled to blackmail , she began to demand for money , in the space of two days I spent seven million naira to make her leave , but she was just am Oliver Twist , always wanting more .” He said as he dropped to his knees .
“Dooshima please forgive him, he’s realised his mistake , forgive him .” Mrs Bemshima begged , Dooshima was quiet for a long while . She looked at her mum , Seember was just quiet. “Promise me you’ll think about it ?” Mrs Bemshima asked Dooshima , she couldn’t say a word .
“I’ll talk to her Bemshima, but talk to your son , he cannot go about hitting a woman , that’s wrong of him.” Seember said , Terfa and his mum soon left . “Dooshima please forgive him , you’ve known Terfa and what he’s capable of , what about the next man you’ll meet ? what if he is worst .
