“He said as he drove .”But you get so emotional as if it’s the end of your life because your relationship crashed . it wasn’t your fault , it’s also not hers , it’s your late father my brother , who couldn’t let the both of you marry , because of tribalism.
Dooshima is going to get married next weekend, her family are back to Gboko , you cannot die because your love interest failed you .” Mr Agada said , Ogwuche’s constricted his muscles , the mention of Dooshima getting married cut him like a knife .
they got to Gboko , at about two P.M Ogwuche went straight up to his room to take his bath, he returned from the bathroom , to see his phone flashing a bright white colour, signifying that he missed a call . He checked his phone and saw the doctor’s number . He dialled her phone .
“Hello Doctor Ajuma ,sorry I missed your call , we just got to Gboko now .” Ogwuche said .
“O-kay but don’t call me Doctor Ajuma, just call me Ajuma .”she said giggling . “I just called to check on you, hope you’re better now ?” She asked , Ogwuche paused for a second .

“Well I fell better now , that I know it’s not the end of the world , thank you for checking on me , I hope we can talk more often ,like my friends moved on while I was locked in the dark .” Ogwuche said .
“For sure I’ll call you so much , that you’ll turn off your phone .” she crackled.
“Let’s see about that. I have to go now Ajuma there’s somebody outside my door .” He said ,Ajuma thanked him for calling back and hung up the phone . Ogwuche went to the door , he met his aunt standing there .
“Please Ogwuche can I come in?” She said , Ogwuche didn’t utter her a word ,he just left the door open and walked back into the room , she admitted herself into his room .
“Ogwuche please we need to talk .” Ada said , she knew Ogwuche had not forgiven her for her meanness, though he didn’t know her part in frustrating Dooshima out of the house, but he felt better when he was far away from her .

“Ogwuche I want to beg for forgiveness, I transferred the hatred I had for your father to you , and then I transferred it to Lillian while she was here . I made her run out of the house
, I blame myself for everything that’s been happening, I shouldn’t have done that . please find it in your heart to forgive me . ” she begged , Ogwuche nodded , he was searching for a neat pajamas inside his wardrobe, while she stood at the middle of the room talking .
“Ogwuche I said am sorry for all I did to you .” She said , Ogwuche didn’t say anything .
“Please forgive me .” Ada said. “I don’t have peace of mind, I feel I’ve wronged you .”
“I’ve forgiven you , so don’t let anything steal your peace of mind , just know that the way we treat others , is the way God will treat us , some say karma but I say God because that’s what I believe.” Ogwuche said after wearing his shirt .his phone began to ring ,his true caller app was showing Mimidoo he wondered which Mimidoo it was .
“Hello good afternoon .” Ogwuche said ,Ada stood silent for a while waiting for Ogwuche to end the call , so they could talk further but the call seemed it would go on for eternity , so she went out of his room .

“which Mimidoo is this ? I don’t remember knowing you.” Ogwuche said .
“I am Dooshima’s friend and your former colleague at General Hospital Gboko.” Mimidoo said .
“Oh Mimi why are you calling me ?” Ogwuche asked .
“Ogwuche I need to see you , please can I see you today ?” She asked.
“Well is there a problem?” Ogwuche asked .
“No I just need to make things right .” She said .
“I am at my uncle’s place you can come around .” He said ,a few minutes later a car pulled out in front of the compound, Ogwuche went to the window to see who was there . He recognised her immediately, though she had added a few pounds , he called the security man at the gate to let her in .
“Mimidoo how are you ?” Ada asked when she saw Dooshima’s best friend.

“Am fine ma.” Mimidoo said , Ada showed her to a seat,as she went back into the kitchen , she sat down patiently waiting for Ogwuche.
Soon Ogwuche was climbing down the staircase ,wearing a white round neck shirt , and the trousers of his blue pajamas ,looking fresh and clean unlike how she had seen him five months earlier , when the police men attacked him during Dooshima’s introduction.
“Ogwuche you’re looking good .” She said , as he plopped down on a couch next to her , in his uncle’s large sitting room . “Thank you Mimi .” Ogwuche said picking up the remote he turned up the large television set .
“So what did you want to say to me ?” he asked glaring at her , she maid brought a pack of Juice and tumbler , Mimidoo politely turned it down .
“Ogwuche I wronged you , I need to do restitution, this has been eating me up for eight years.” she confessed . “I’ve to let it out . Ogwuche I made sure you got sacked from your job at the hospital.” she said Ogwuche smiled.

“You see I lied to the board in your absence, when a committee to investigate you was set up , I told them you had drugged Dooshima’s drink , and had knowledge of her .” she said . “When you couldn’t come for your defence , they sacked you .” Mimidoo fell to her knees .
“Am sorry Ogwuche , months later I went to my matron to confess , but it was too late to save you , because you hadn’t shown up to the office in several months .” She said, and went on her knees .
“Well Mimi what I did to Dooshima was bad , I should not have touched her , when she was drunk , but my lust and sexual addiction , I had stayed away from sex for a while , so I thought she wouldn’t mind but I was wrong . I’m as guilty as you told the board . I do not have a right to say I forgive you when I was wrong .
I didn’t put something in her drink , but I gave her alcohol when I knew she had never had that , and I slept with her .” Ogwuche said . “But thank God you for coming to straighten things up .”He said .
“And Ogwuche have you spoken to Dooshima recently?” She asked Ogwuche shook his head .
“But you should Call her ?” Mimi suggested .

“Why should I ? I messed up my opportunity, I am just coming back from the hospital , I’m trying to move on .” Ogwuche said .”
I heard her traditional marriage is on Wednesday next week , and church wedding next Saturday , I’ve disrupted her life enough , I should let her marry and find peace and love I couldn’t give her .” Ogwuche said .
“But… Lillian…” Mimidoo paused . “Never mind , I began to wish that the two of you …” she couldn’t complete her statement, Ogwuche didn’t push for her to speak , he was just silent , she got up on her feet .
“Thank you for your time Ogwuche , and thanks for forgiving me .” She said , Ogwuche walked with her to the gate ,he stood with her until a motorcyclist stopped and she climbed , she waved goodbye,before returning into the house .
