CHAPTER 121

Dooshima was coiled up in bed ,she rested her chin on her arms folded on her pillow she lay face in bed , wondering the next step to take , she felt a strong urge to get out of her relationship with Terfa , she wondered if they were destined to be friends , or life partners .
She couldn’t feel the bound she had for Terdue with him , she fighting the urge to break up with him , every new day when the sun wakes , she felt millions of miles away from him .
Her door gently creaked open , Dooshima raised her head up , and looked at the door , she thought it was Shiana , but it was her mother making her way into her room ,who was wearing a soft smile on her face .
“Hey Dooshima why did you lock yourself up in your room ? you didn’t join us for dinner .” Seember said .
“Oh mum I don’t feel hungry .” Dooshima said . “I had lunch with Terfa , I’m still full.” Dooshima said , she lay her head on the pillow .

“Dooshima we need to talk mother and daughter.”Seember said sitting next to Dooshima on the bed .
“I am hearing you mum.” Dooshima said not looking up at her mother . “Dooshima marriage is beyond love , well I was fortunate enough to marry your father , who was my first love.
But you see daughter? life isn’t a fairy world , the prince doesn’t always marries the deprived girl .” Seember said, Dooshima was quiet .
“You should put your heart and soul into this marriage , with time you’ll learn to love Terfa , look for the things you like in him. Maybe the way he talks , the way he behaves how he care , from there you can grow your love .

“Seember kept jabbering , Dooshima had travelled to an illusionary world , that was far away from his mother .
“Dooshima? Dooshima ? you’re not talking?” Seember rattled Dooshima back to life . “Oh what did you say mum ?” She asked .
“I was asking if Shiana will stay with us here , so you can be able to start your new life .” The question was preposterous to Dooshima , did her mother expect her to leave her child behind ? she’s the only mother the girl had known all her life , she sat up .
“I don’t understand mum , why would my daughter stay here ? did I complain of not being able to cater for her ?” Dooshima said , sitting up abruptly.

“No Dooshima don’t get it twisted , it’s not a thing you decide on your own , you know your case is a peculiar one , you’re coming with a child into the marriage , you have to talk with your fiance if he’s okay with you bringing in your child into the house .” Seember said , Dooshima grunted .
“Mum I’ve heard you,but I can’t let my child stay away from me , she can come to you for weekends, she will live with me wherever I go , I would rather remain unmarried than to have my daughter live away from me .
I’ll choose my child every time over any man .” Dooshima said . Seember sat quietly for a long time .
“Dooshima don’t talk like that , marriage important, I’ll just advice you have a talk with Terfa and hear what he has to say , your wedding is two weeks away , you should have talked about this since .” She said and got up from the bed .
“Mum I’ve heard you .” Dooshima said . “Please I want to rest my head .” she added . “My head is aching.” Dooshima said .

Seember got up from the bed .”I’ll send Gloria to bring some aspirin for you .”She said , Dooshima remained silent her chin rested on her arms spread on her pillow , she travelled into her subconscious mind not minding her surroundings.
Dooshima had a rape case at thr federal high court Asokoro, a teenager was raped by her influential uncle , the man had used his money to shut up the press , it was the final hearing of the case, Dooshima was a support lawyer to her more senior colleague from the federal ministry of Justice.
“Dooshima I need your full attention here , what are you thinking about ? please let your attention be here .
“The lawyer said to Dooshima as her thought had wandered far away from the court room . He had been asking her to give him a certain paper Dooshima couldn’t hear her , until the Judge yelled at her .
“Am sorry sir , there’s a lot going on in my head .” Dooshima said as he handed him the paper . He collected the paper without a word , the case was judged in favour of the girl , her uncle was given fifteen years in prison .

Dooshima gathered her things to rush away from the courtroom , her senior colleague followed behind her , she climbed into the Gigantic SUV she had driven to court .
“Barrister Dooshima wait!” The senior lawyer said as he jumped into Dooshima’s car . “Come tell me what’s been wrong with you ? you’re losing focus too often this days , your absent mindedness is alarming.” The elderly man said , Dooshima sighed but remained mute .
“Talk to me , I know you’re a brilliant lawyer , I want to know what’s disturbing your mind .” He asked , Dooshima crashed her forehead, she just couldn’t bring herself up to speak . “Sir I’m fine , I will be attentive next time .” Dooshima promised .
