Flutterwave Begins Operations In North Africa, Obtains Licenses In Egypt

Flutterwave and its $6.2M Hack Scandal

Nigeria-based unicorn, Flutterwave, begins operations in North Africa, expands market operations in Egypt, and obtains a payment license from the central bank of Egypt. This license allows for domestic and international payments enabling the “flutterwave for business” feature which allows for e-commerce integrations and payments, Invoices, and checkouts.

The $3 billion valued unicorn becomes an official payment provider in Egypt, completing Its last $250 million Series D fundraising in January 2022, and is looking to connect all of Africa through easy and seamless payments infrastructure.

The regional manager, Aalaa Gamal expressed excitement over the new expansion in obtaining its recent license in Egypt, which assures a much more robust payment system across borders.
