The car skidded off into the tarred busy interstate road , they scanned the crowd of people trekking by the pedestrian path of the road , Shiana wasn’t to found amongst them .
They drove to Dooshima’s compound to check if she was home already .
“Mama Destiny is Shiana back from school ?” She asked , the woman stared at her quizzically.
“Didn’t you go to go and pick her from school ? How can she be home , Does Shiana come home on her own ?” she asked Dooshima thanked her and got back into the car .
The mother superior drove with Dooshima from one house to another of students she knew , to see if anyone had seen who Shiana had gone with they all said they had not seen her .
“Please madam don’t cry we’ll find your daughter, she !ogjr just be in her friends place .” The mother superior said , this was around four P.M one hour after school.

“Madam I don’t have anything in this world except that child -I brought her to that school , even though I know your school fees is exorbitant , so she could get good education and be protected .
How could you let this be? please don’t tell me not to cry find my baby for me!” Dooshima said with red eyes .
“We have to go to the police station maybe somebody has seen her and taken her there ?”The mother superior suggested , Dooshima had no choice she didn’t know what to do .
The Headmistress , drove Dooshima into the police station, the building had faded whitish yellow paint all over it , with the blue yellow green colour of the Nigerian police written on it , a big painting on the wall announced, that the building was the Nigerian Police Ushongo Divisional Headquarters, the Reverend sister parked her Toyota Corolla with other cars outside the police station and walked with Dooshima into the counter .
“Mother superior waiting bring you come station ?” A police Corporal asked with a smile on his face . “You come bail person !” his face radiating happiness.

“I didn’t come to bail anybody Matthias , one of our children left school after school close this afternoon, we’ve been searching for her around Lessel , we thought maybe she might have been found and brought here ?” The headmistress said .
“Nothing like that oh, but make una come sha write una report here , when we hear anything we go sha give una a call .” The Corporal said .
“Inspector come and see something that am seeing o.” The Corporal called his boss who was sitting behind the counter , munching down a plate of rice .
“What is it ?” He said as he stood up . “Is this not the girl , the daughter of that rich pastor who was searching for his daughter in Gboko ? that the a circular was passed …”
He asked his boss .
“Corporal Mathias Na true you talk oh , the lady resemble her die , but this lady is looking quiet older na ?” He asked as the mumbled .

“Oga according to the information she got missing over seven years ago , she should be this old , her father is now the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation. If we can connect her with her father we done blow oh .” The Corporal said .
“What’s her father’s name self , let’s check if it’s the same name ?” the officer asked his colleague.
“I think it’s Paul Gamadi , we go check the report book of her name get Gamadi , oboy we done hammer .” The officers said .
“Please give us a call if you see her .” The mother superior said . The police men nodded , they scanned the report book , their suspicion was proven right, the mother superior was about driving her red Toyota Corolla out of the compound when they saw the corporal running to them as they were about to leave the gate .
“Mother please I don’t know if I can take a snapshot of girls mother , so we can show her to confirm if that’s her child when the child is brought ?” The policeman asked . Dooshima couldn’t say a word her heart was heavy , her arms folded over her chest .
“Ask her please .” the mother superior said , the police man set his camera and took a good shut of Dooshima, from her chest up . the officer who was holding the gate open had began to growl.

The Mother superior and Dooshima were heading towards the school when they saw a man walking into a gated compound holding a girl of Shiana’s age and height , and she was wearing same uniform.
“Please park the car ! That’s my child .” Dooshima cried , she jumped out of the vehicle before it rolled to stop .
“Shiana! Shiana!” she called running after the man . “Bring back my daughter!” Dooshima cried , it was already seven P.M in the evening, the sun had already began to set , Dooshima ran to the man and grabbed the girl , she had had same braids as Shiana , the girl and her man turned in surprise.
“Oh am sorry sir I thought she was my daughter!” Dooshima said putting her hand on her head she cried , the man recognise the Mother superior , who apologized on behalf of Dooshima and explained their situation .
They drove to the school , Shiana had disappeared without trace . Dooshima got an Okada to take her to the house , where she saw Shiana eating with Prisca and Priscila.

“Shiana where did you go to!” Dooshima screened as she embraced hugged her tightly. “You almost gave me a heart attack why did you leave school .” Dooshima asked crying. Shiana kept staring at her White stockings , and black Bata shoe.
“Mummy I no longer like it here , I want grandma !” She said Dooshima embraced her tight .
“Grandma is gone to heaven she won’t be coming back again . It’s us that will go and meet her .” Dooshima said ,she wiped the tears falling from Shiana’s eyes , the little girl understood what her mother was saying , she was the closest person to the old woman, the woman had nursed her from infancy , she was so attached to her .
“We were coming from Gboko , we saw her walking down the road towards Gboko we had to stop and take her home , please don’t beat her ehn?” The ladies begged Dooshima .
She embraced Shiana hugged her and kissed her head . “Don’t worry it’s you and I together we’ll be fine.”
